About the Podcast

Playback Static is an analog/cosmic TTRPG Actual Play Podcast of the game Public Access by Jason Cordova which you can get through DriveThruRPG. It is set in Deep Lake, Arizona in the year 2004. Ever since the local public access TV station that began production in the late 1970's, TV Odyssey, quite literally disappeared in the mid 1990's, odd things have been happening in the town of Deep Lake.Our Latchkeys who grew up in Deep Lake and moved away find themselves drawn back to their hometown to solve the mysteries happening in Deep Lake currently, and the get to the bottom of what happened to TV Odyssey, once and for all.There's secrets in Deep Lake, one's that are older than our Latchkeys even know about. The true question is will they survive long enough to find out what happened to the long disappeared station and, if they do, what happens to them?This podcast is a labor of love and is dedicated to Ashaun Edward Jackson AKA DapprWombat. Jellyfish (or Irving to friends) is a trans masculine queer guy from NE Ohio. Outside of TTRPGs he can be found running home games or appearing on TTRPG Actual Play streams on Twitch and YouTube since August 2022. His favorite horror movie is Alien and he is allergic to alliums. His favorite thing about TTRPGs is the amount of creativity that can be created within a collective agreed upon ruleset. Basil Wright (He/They/Xe) As Crystal Lattimore (They/Them)
Basil Wright (he/they/xe) is a Game Designer and Cultural Consultant who loves puns, fantasy novels, and more bananas and cheese than one person should consume in a lifetime. His game design philosophy is to create games that promote community and have the lowest barrier of entry, so that everyone can enjoy playing games together! Dori Murdock is a thirty eight year old voice actor who dabbles in being a military vet and IT specialist. Their hobbies include gaming with the young humanoid cryptid that manifested into their life and watching an unhealthy amount of Pan's Labyrinth. Find them on Twitter or on TikTok.

Frankie (They/He) as Chester Murphy (He/Him)
Frankie is a Chicago-based sleepy anxious millennial who has been trapped in the hungry grasp of higher education, in one role or another, since 2003. Originally trained as a theoretical linguist, they now focus on supporting students in the transition from high school into college. Their favorite horror movies include Nope, Cure, and Possession, although many others are also in competition for the top spot. This is their first TTRPG Actual Play podcast appearance.
